Various Artists - Ten Years of Phonica

Phonica Records wurde im September 2003 gegründet und siedelte sich in Soho, London an, wo man heute noch eine hohe Dichte unabhängiger Plattenläden findet. Die Gründer Simon Rigg, Heidi Vanden Amstel und Tom Relleen traten der Vinyl Factory bei mit dem Ziel, ein interessantes Outlet für innovative Dance-Musik zu schaffen, die alle Subgenres und -kulturen umfasst. In der vergangenen Dekade entwickelte sich Phonica zu einer respektierten und gefragten Institution und zu einem Anlaufpunkt für DJs und Liebhaber. Der Laden entwickelte sich dabei sukzessive zu einer Plattform für Konversation und Inspiration als Teil einer breiteren Gemeinschaft von Musikliebhabern.



While trends and movements in music have grown and faded over these years, Phonica has always remained in a state of evolution. It is this openness to change alongside a commitment to it's original ethos and an enduring ardour for quality, cutting-edge sounds that has fuelled the shop's staying power.
